new favorite combination: ranch dressing draping ove apples and green peppers. i enjoyed this today while listening to some of Joe Purdy dreamy vocals & Charlotte Martin's "Four Walls" from her junior album, Stromata:

....gonna feel my way around you
And then you're gonna get down on your knees
And grow accustomed to the darkness
And see what you're supposed to see
Head up straight
I know what I'm doing
Head up straight
I know what I'm doing
I don't

In this wading pool
In this waiting room
I elevate us down

In a neglected olive tree
Here is the part you reach for me
Say that you have no need of this
Say it again
Say it again
Say it again
Again again again.......

just a smidgen of what mood i was slouching around in this morinng. so after making some early-afternoon music discoveries, i canoed (since that's how i feel when i'm surfing the net for design stuff) my way around design blog sites for some good Christmas gift ideas for the November issue. attempting to take it in stride, my last day with Midwest Home is Thursday. i don't know if it's fair for me to say that i'm unsatisfied with what i'll take away from this one. my portfolio is thanking me, but i feel like my skills are sitll significantly under-developed. and i know i can't just expect that my graduation day will come and i'll be outsourced to Newsweek. i suppose there is always hope for my next internship go. three times a charm right?

maybe i shouldn't listen to Joe Purdy anymore. his music makes me feel like not only am i confused when it comes to love in my life, but that i should be confused when it comes to love in my life. i've always been one to believe that everything happens for a reason but that's sort of a given. and i don't think i have to make a statement about believing in gravitational forces when science proves that for me. my castles in Spain are the best when i'm en route for work in the mornings. if it's the stage where sleep is wearing off, or if it's the bus-through-city movement, i don't care - i have the greatest daydreams. running into his arms, high-ceiling cabins in Montana, design briefcases and Lincoln Towncar escorts, apple and green pepper salads at sidewalk bistros in Martha's Vineyard, bakery-best cheesecakes, Pacific coast lighthouses.

Thoreau once said something about how there is no remedy for love but to love more. i miss having someone to love like i used to. oh my god - am i having an emo moment!? or maybe it's more of a western-voyager momemt. thanks a lot Joe Purdy.............. "honey, i want you around....."
